5 Games To Play For Halloween 2018

By Editorial team | October 29, 2018

Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to spend the year’s scariest holiday than playing some spooky games? With a wide variety of horror or Halloween-themed games out there, choosing one (or two, or three…we won’t judge) to play can prove to be quite difficult – so we’ve narrowed it down to five games that we think you should check out this spooky season:

Sara is Missing

An indie title from Malaysian game studio Kaigan Games, Sara is Missing will have you investigating Sara’s mysterious disappearance. With her mobile phone as your only lead, this game definitely takes an interesting approach to uncovering the truth.

The game is available via itch.io on a pay what you want model for Android, Windows and Mac.

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game

Developed by Cyanide, what better way to celebrate this spooky month with some Lovecraftian horrors, inspired by Chaosium’s classic pen and paper RPG. This role-playing survival horror game set in 1924’s Boston will have you following investigator Edward Pierce as he looks into the mysterious deaths of the Hawkins Family.

Surrounded by a world filled with cultists, conspiracies and otherworldly horrors, will you be able to keep your sanity?

Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game will be available on October 31st on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Gray Dawn

Gray Dawn is a psychological thriller where you take on the role of Father Abraham who has been implied to have killed several children. In his search of evidence to exonerate himself you will uncover many interesting clues and topics that may not always be what they seem.

Available for Windows only.

Killing Floor 2 – Halloween Horrors: Monster Masquerade

As the title suggests, the aim is to wreak havoc on some poor zombies with your friends. A straightforward zombie-themed shoot-’em-up with support for up to 6-player co-op and a 12-player versus mode, none of your friends should be left out this Halloween. Think Call of Duty’s Zombie mode on steroids – and with better zombies.

Available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, and Linux.

Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion

Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion is a cutesy, free-to-play game available on Steam with cardboard cutout monsters trying to jumpscare you. Just don’t be fooled by the title, as quite some thought was actually given by Lag Studios when they developed this game. With 1000 rooms to clear, will you be able to reach the end?

For those interested, there’s also a remastered version called, Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion: HD Renovation.
